Nancy T. (Moriello) Casarino, 95, of Wilmington, DE, passed away October 17th, 2016 peacefully at home, in the presence of her family, following a short illness. She is survived by her son, Stephen (Betsy), her daughter, Suzanne, her grandchildren Corinne Casarino, Matthew Casarino, Evan Steinberger, and Leah Steinberger, and by many nieces and nephews.
Nancy was primarily a homemaker, but worked as a seamstress in her early years. She continued her passion throughout life by making and altering clothes for family and friends. She also worked at Buster Brown Shoes, and briefly had a job as a cafeteria worker at a local high school. Nancy enjoyed working in her vegetable garden, often using her homegrown zucchini and tomatoes in frequent family dinners. The holidays will never be the same without her Italian wedding soup and homemade cheesecake.
Nancy remained independent, driving herself to the Mid-County Senior Center, where she was a member of the Site Council. There, she enjoyed playing cards, Bocce, and participating in the annual fashion and variety shows. She was also a parishioner of St. John the Beloved. In June, family and friends celebrated her 95th birthday with a large party. She will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her.
