Mildred (Dalecki) Sarnecki, age 94, of Sheridan Square, Wilmington DE passed away on February 2, 2016.
Mildred “Millie” was born on April 12, 1921, on a farm in Ogletown-Newark, DE. She was one of twelve children born to John Paul Dalecki and Kazimiera (Kempczynski) Dalecki.
She graduated from Wilmington High School, Class of 1940. Millie was employed at the DuPont Company and later, the State of Delaware, for the Division of Boiler Safety. She retired after twenty-five years of dedicated service.
Millie is survived by her daughter-in-law, Kathleen (Petit de Mange) Sarnecki, her grandchildren, Sean (Stacey) Sarnecki, Christopher (Claire) Sarnecki, Elizabeth Sarnecki, and her three great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Carlin, and Chloe. She is also survived by her close nieces, Pat and Kellie Mitchell, as well as, many other nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Millie was preceded in death by her husband Edward “Ace” Sarnecki in January 1992 and her son, Gregory J Sarnecki, in February 2015.
She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Viola Hutchinson, Phyllis Cottrell, Anne Eastburn, Florence Ludlam, Marie Bybee, Betty Haycraft, and her brothers, John Paul Dalecki Jr, Theodore “Ted” Dalecki, Charles “Charlie” Dalecki, Edwin Dalecki, and Joseph Dalecki.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 5, 2016 at 12:30PM at St John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington, DE. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Millie’s memory to the charity of your choice.
