With heavy hearts we say goodbye to our beloved brother, the ever-faithful Michael J. McKeefery. Michael lost his battle with multiple myeloma on April 17, after years of struggle, and now he is at peace. We know that his devotion sent him on angel’s wings directly to heaven.
Mike was a leader and teacher all of his life. He led other educators while working at Loyola University Press, and brought light and life to his roles as a principal at Our Lady of Fatima School (New Castle Delaware), and a teacher at St. Mark’s High School (Newark, Delaware), St. Catherine of Siena School (Wilmington, Delaware), Our Lady of Mercy School (Day City, California) and Cathedral Prep High School (San Francisco, California). He truly carried the word of the Lord with flair, fun and dedication to thousands of students who remember him fondly. Michael was a current resident of Sea Isle, New Jersey and lived in the family home.
He is survived by his beloved brother, Patrick McKeefery, and his nephews, Andrew and Colin McKeefery. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rita (Gallanaugh) and Joseph McKeefery.
Please join us to celebrate his life on Tuesday, April 25 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 7200 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin. Visitation will be held from 11:00-11:45AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00PM, with interment following in All Saints Cemetery.
