Maurice A. Baumann, 77 of Wilmington, DE passed away unexpectedly with his loving family at his side on Saturday, July 1, 2017.

Maurice was born in Bryn Mawr, PA on July 15, 1939, son of the late Armand and Maria (Hasenboehler) Baumann. A graduate of Salesianum School, class of 1957, he attended the University of Delaware and served as a Staff Sergeant in the Delaware Air Force Reserves during the Vietnam War Era. Maurice was employed with the DuPont Company and retired in 2000 after 40 years of dedicated service.

Maurice was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Delaware, a Boy Scout Leader and Eagle Scout. He enjoyed golf and watching baseball and football. Maurice enjoyed anything with regard to agriculture. He loved to work outside. Maurice was also a handyman and especially enjoyed carpentry work.

Family was the center of Maurice’s world. Maurice will be remembered for his big heart and generosity, as he was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He also had an amazing sense of humor.

Maurice is survived by the love of his life and beloved wife of 34 years, Patricia K. Weaver-Baumann; his son, Joshua A.W. Baumann and his wife, Anne Marie; his daughter, Beatrice K.W. Baumann; his grandchildren, Armand J.C. Baumann and the little one on the way; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Theresa and Bruce Taylor; and his nephew, Christopher D. Taylor and his family. He was predeceased by his parents, as well as his sister, Denise Y. Baumann.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, July 6 from 9:30 to 10:15 AM at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Church, 8 Old Church Rd., Wilmington, DE 19807, where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in Maurice’s memory to the Salesianum School Annual Fund, 1801 N. Broom St., Wilmington, DE 19802.
