Matthew Ebling Obituary

Matthew V. Ebling, 42, of Wilmington, Delaware peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, February 6, 2018.

Born in Wilmington on September 12, 1975, Matt was a graduate of St. Elizabeth’s High School and earned his Master’s Degree in public administration from the University of Delaware.  He was employed as a Criminal Justice Council Planner with the State of Delaware for 18 years.  Matt was a passionate Philadelphia Eagles fan and an avid music lover, especially classic rock and jazz.  He enjoyed playing his bass guitar and attending concerts.  He also enjoyed running and participated in many 5K marathons.  Matt possessed a great sense of humor and was often the life of the party.  His happiest times were spent with his son, Campbell.

Matt will be dearly missed by his son, Campbell Ebling; his parents: his dad, Philip Ebling; his mom and dad, Mary Alice (Haney) and Luke Martelli; his sisters, Mollie Barone and Victoria Martelli; his brother, Jeffrey Ebling; his niece, Chloe Barone; his nephews, Jacob Barone, Lucas Trombley, Milo Trombley; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Family and friends are invited to visit at St. Elizabeth Church, Cedar and Clayton Streets, Wilmington on Thursday, February 15 from 10:00-11:45AM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00PM.  Interment will be held privately.
