Maryann C. Zuka, 72 of Newark, DE and formerly of Garfield, NJ, passed away peacefully at the Heartland Hospice House on Thursday, May 11, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.
Maryann was born in Garfield, NJ, daughter of the late William and Catherine (Paflitzko) Zuka. She moved to Delaware to live with her brother and sister-in-law in 2011 after her mother passed away.
While Maryann resided in Garfield, she was very active in her church. She also enjoyed crocheting afghans and doing embroidery, word-find puzzles and spending time with her pet cat, Snoopy.
Maryann is survived by her brother, Ronald Zuka (Gerry); her aunt, Irene Makri (Robert); her niece and nephews, Valerie Conkey (Jeff), David Zuka and Michael Zuka (Melissa); and her grandnieces and nephews, Taylor, Ben and Josh Conkey, Alyssa Hancock (Kevin) and Brendan and Dylan Zuka as well as many cousins in New Jersey and Delaware.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Resurrection Parish, 3000 Videre Drive, Wilmington, DE 19808, where family and friends may visit beginning at 9:30am. Interment will take place on Wednesday, May 17, 2016 in East Ridgelawn Cemetery in Clifton, NJ.
