Marie E. (D'Andrea) Zurlo

Marie E. Zurlo (née D’Andrea) January 5, 1925 – June 17, 2017, age 92, passed away on June 17, 2017 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Hockessin, Delaware.

Marie was born in Jersey City, New Jersey and lived there until 1942 when her family moved to Brooklyn, New York. She married the love of her life, Frank Zurlo on April 18, 1948 at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Brooklyn.  She worked for many years at Allstate Insurance Company. She was an accomplished pianist and known far and wide for her remarkable memory.

Marie is survived by her husband of 69 years, Frank, age 95, her children, Joanne (James Yager), Peter (Bonnie Parker), John (Margaret Kreher) and Marie Muddiman (Mark) and 10 beloved grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers Joseph, Emil and Anthony and her sister, Pearl.

Visitation hours will be at Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington DE, 19808 from 5:00 until 7:30 pm on Wednesday, June 21, 2017.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 7200 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE 19707 on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808.
