Louis Anthony DiJiacomo, 75 of Newark, DE, peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, January 26, 2015.
Lou was born in Wilmington on January 23, 1940, son of the late John and Wilda (Rizzi) DiJiacomo. A veteran of the United States Air Force, he was employed as a letter carrier with the United States Postal Service and retired after 42 years of dedicated service. He served as president of the Postal Employee Credit Union for 25 years. Lou was a member of Soloman Lodge #36 AF & AM and St. Anthony of Padua Parish.
Lou will be dearly missed by his wife of 54 years, Geraldine (Hogan) DiJiacomo; his son, Anthony M. DiJiacomo and his wife, Wendy; his grandson, Cory Grzybowski and his wife, Amy; and his great granddaughter, Elli Grzybowski.
He was predeceased by his brother, John DiJiacomo.
Friends are invited to the visitation at Gracelawn Memorial Park Chapel, 2220 N. DuPont Highway, New Castle on Friday, January 30 from 10:00-11:00AM. Funeral services will begin at 11:00AM, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.
