Loretta L. (Lener) Adams

Loretta L. Adams was born in Wilmington, DE on July 17, 1938 and passed away following a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, November 26, 2016.

Mrs. Adams attended St. Hedwig’s Parochial School, graduate from Wilmington High School in 1956 and retired from JP Morgan Chase in 2004. 

She was predeceased by her parents, Benjamin and Lucy Lener; her beloved husband, Gary D. Defibaugh; and her Godson, Scott L. Dobrzynski.  Loretta is survived by her son, Michael J. Adams (Beth) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and her daughter, Lynne Paige Hertsenberg (Doug) of Newark, DE.  Also surviving are her adored grandchildren, Brittany and Madison Adams, and Lauren, Lindsey and Michael Hertsenberg; her sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Fred Dobrzynski.

Loretta was adventurous and enjoyed traveling with friends and family.  She loved all animals, especially her feline companion, Sammy cat and granddogs.  Joyful times were shared with family at the Rehoboth beach house and in Florida.

Visitation will be held at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington on Wednesday, November 30 from 9:30-10:30AM, with A Memorial Mass immediately following.  Interment will be held privately.
