Ken passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 15, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Baltimore, Maryland to Henry W. and Mae H. Diggs. 

Educated at Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, he received an engineering degree from Johns Hopkins University and later received an MBA from the University of Delaware.  Ken married Evelyn Moxley in Baltimore and began his DuPont career in Richmond, Virginia.  After two years of service in the United States Army, he returned to DuPont in Delaware.  Ken was involved in several projects for DuPont including managing construction of DeLisle railroad and port facilities and development of the supply chain process.

Ken was active in sports, but his true passion was sailboat racing for which he won many trophies.

Ken is survived by his wife of nearly 64 years, Evelyn; his daughters, Janis Harlow (Dan) and June Polonsky (Steven); his son, Robert (Ann); his grandsons, Scott and Nathan Harlow; and his step grandchildren, Samantha and Josh Polonsky.  He also leaves his sister, Joyce Keister (Don); as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at Hockessin United Methodist Church, 7250 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE 19707 on Saturday, April 29 at 11:00AM, with a luncheon to follow at The Summit, 5850 Limestone Road, Hockessin, DE 19707.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Kenneth H. Diggs may be made to Hockessin United Methodist Church or Heartland Hospice, 256 Chapman Road, Suite 102, Newark, DE 19702.  The family would like to thank the staff of Heartland Hospice for Ken’s long term care.
