On Friday, October 2, 2015, Pop-Pop went to be with God while surrounded by his family.

Pop-Pop was born on July 30, 1929 in Elkton, MD.   He was the patriarch of a very large family.  He enjoyed spending summers with them at their beach house in Lewes, DE where he taught his children and grandchildren how to boat, crab, clam and fish. Many hours were spent on the dock with his children and grandchildren. One of his passions was being in the woods hunting with the boys.  He served in the “Seabees”, the Construction Battalion of the Navy, during the Korean War. Pop-Pop was a carpenter by trade.  He loved working with his hands.  He designed and built many custom homes throughout New Castle County.  He was a lifetime member of St. Matthew Parish, working in the men’s guild maintaining the school, church and hall.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Janice Sheets Molitor; his children, Joseph Molitor, pre-deceased Daniel Molitor, Michael Molitor Sr., Melissa Molitor Johnston and Eric Molitor; nine grand-children; and nine great grandchildren.

The Molitor family would like to thank the home care unit from the VA, the compassionate care staff from hospice, and the staff of the 5A unit in Christiana care hospital.

Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing at St. Matthew Church, 901 E. Newport Pike, Wilmington on Thursday, October 8 from 9:45-10:45AM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM.  Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
