John D. Rice

John D. Rice, age 75 of Wilmington, DE passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2014 at home.

John loved model railroading and model making. He was an aviation enthusiast and served in the U.S. Army.

He was predeceased by his wife of 40 years, Susan Rice and his granddaughter, Sarah.

He is survived by his sons, John J. Rice (Nancy Efron), Michael Rice (Beth), Kenneth Rice (Jill), Gregory Rice (Wendi) and his daughter Jennifer Rice (Eric Zippe); his grandchildren, Jennifer, Jacob, Abigail, Joshua, Stephen and Danielle and his brothers, Edgar Rice and George Rice.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 19 at 11 am in St. Elizabeth Church, Cedar and S. Clayton Sts. Wilmington where friends may visit from 10-11 am. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
