Joan M. (McKibben) Corridori

Joan M. Corridori, age 92, passed away peacefully on October 13th, 2017.

She was born on June 8th, 1925 to the late John and Helen McKibben. She grew up in Wilmington, DE with her three sisters- Marie, Helen and Trudy. In August of 1943, she married her sweetheart, Francis Corridori, who preceded her death in 1992. Together they had five sons: Butch, Michael, Tommy, Daniel, and Andrew. She remarried in the spring of 1994 to her longtime friend, Paul DiMeglio, Sr., who has since passed in 2008.

Joan was a firecracker with blue eyes and a big smile. Her love of sweets was uncanny, once leading to a broken wrist after sneaking cookies in the darkness of the night. She had a competitive spirit and loved cheating at a good game of cards, or rooting for her favorite playoff football team. Joan took pride in her looks and was a tan blonde bombshell until the end. She was smart and a wiz at numbers as an employee of Bank Atlantic.  Joan and Francis were successful business owners of The Kings Inn restaurant and the Corridori Roofing Company. She also was never known to not have a book in her hand. Joan was incredibly strong, that goes without saying after raising five boys! 

In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her three sisters; two husbands; two sons, Michael and Tommy; granddaughter, Lisa; and countless friends.

First and foremost, she was very loving and accepting. Her family and friends were the joy of her life, and time spent with them will be the memories she carries in her heart as she makes her way back home. She will be missed dearly by her sons and their wives; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Gene Corridori (Shirley); several nieces, nephews and friends at Ingleside Assisted Living, Pompano Aegean, Resurrection Parish, and Tuesday Noon AFG.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Resurrection Parish, 3000 Videre Drive, Wilmington, DE 19808, where family and friends may visit beginning at 10:00am. Interment will be private.
