Howard V. Brinn, 93, of Newark passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, October 27, 2017.

Born in Wilmington on July 12, 1924, Howard proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II, having been stationed in the European and Pacific Theatres.  He was employed with the DuPont Company at the Louviers Site, retiring as a senior procurement coordinator after 38 years of dedicated service.  Howard was a faithful and active member of the Truth and Life Center, where he was loved by the many friends he made.  An outdoors enthusiast, he enjoyed camping and fishing.

His beloved wife of 48 years, Audrey E. (Fischer) Brinn, passed away on November 28, 1994, five days after their wedding anniversary. 

Howard is survived by his children, H. Vernon Brinn Jr. (Carolyn), Diane B. Hawke (Bob) and Holly L. Porter (Bud); his grandchildren, Charlie, Christi, Jessica, Michelle, Cassie, Scott and Brianna; 14 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; his brother-in-law, James Fischer.

He was predeceased by his younger siblings, Doris Elliott, Elizabeth Socorso, Ronald Brinn and Thelma Kline; his parents, Vernon and Bertha (Lynch) Brinn.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Tuesday, October 31 from 10:30-11:30AM.  Funeral services will begin at 11:30AM, followed by interment in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Howard may be made to the Truth and Life Center Mortgage Fund, PO Box 457, North East, Maryland 21901.
