Hazel Workman D’Onofrio, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2015.
Born in Seaford, DE, Hazel spent her lifetime in Wilmington, DE and was a graduate of Pierre S. DuPont High School. She worked for Bell Telephone, Delmarva Power and DuPont.
Hazel was predeceased by her husband, Ralph D’Onofrio, Sr. also from Wilmington.
She is survived by her daughters, Robin (Tim) Barnes and Christy (Patrick) Welsh; her sons, Ralph (Lori) D’Onofrio and Joseph D’Onofrio; her two sisters, Dorothy DiLorenzo and Jody Manerchia; her brother, Lee (Helen) Workman; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Hazel was an avid decorator and homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, planting flowers, travelling and reading. She especially enjoyed caring for her dogs, Charlie, Lacey and Winston. She made people laugh and loved to tell stories of family and friends.
A visitation will be held at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Tuesday, October 13 from 10:00-11:30AM. Funeral services will begin at 11:30AM, with entombment following in All Saints Cemetery.
