Hi Greg, Karyn, Liam and Sam! Thank you for your kind condolences. Jimmy drove all the way down from Rochester today to be at Uncle Dean's memorial. He said he was representing all of you. I was so surprised to see him! I wish he could've stayed, but he said he had to drive back home. Thank you! It meant so much!

My deepest condolences to the Straszewski family. Dean and I were at US Air together in Airbus class during 9/11. We soon travelled to Miami to complete our training. We had some really great times together, even in those tough times. When I got laid off from the airlines, Dean had previously left and went back to his old job. I didn't realize that he was at Dassault until I was walking through the hangar during my interview and heard, "Hire that guy!" bellowing from the tail of an aircraft. The HR manager simply smiled and said, "You know Dean?!" He was a wonderful man and I'm proud to have known him and call him a friend. He will be sorely missed by all those who knew him.

I knew Dean from High School and we got closer senior year and beyond, but for some reason lost track. As things go I always meant to reach out and catch up, but it will not be. Dean had an offbeat sense of humor and was a blast to be hang with. We enjoyed some skiing together and I still have a picture of him wearing a lampshade. I recall some "all you can eat buffet stories" with Dean and the gang. He is remembered and missed. Condolences on your loss.

Thank you for your condolences and sharing your memories. Although you're writing about Dean from back in High School, that was how Dean was all his life. He had such a funny sense of humor, and he was a great friend to hang out with.

God bless you and your family,
Gracie

Dean was a friend of mine starting in grade school and through high school. He was a bright, funny guy, a lovable goof. When some of us started an alternative newspaper at Messmer, Dean wrote an advice column for it. I think it was called "Ask Dean." All I remember is that It was very funny. Dean and double-dated to prom, with Becky Smith (his date) and Tana Rondazzo (mine). I visited him once when he was stationed at SeaTac; I got arrested for wandering into a secure area but he was able to explain I wasn't trying to do anything wrong. I remember him using the word "goddess" to describe Grace, the love of his life. We fell out of touch except for a couple of phone calls maybe ten years ago. I am sorry for his family for his loss.

Hi Bill,
I'm not sure if you will get this, but I want to thank you for your condolences and memories. It took me back to a happier time, way back when we first met. I remember that time at McChord AFB when you came to visit. It was pretty funny and scary at the same time. I can imagine Dean chuckling about it right now.

I hope you and your family are well! Please keep in touch,
Gracie
