Gerald S. Sanderson, age 82, of Hockessin, DE passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family from a hard fought battle with pulmonary fibrosis on Friday, July 14, 2017.

Jerry Graduated from Wilmington High school in 1952. He was co-owner of Brandywine Reproduction and went on to be an insurance agent for Nationwide for 27 years from 1977 to 2004. He enjoyed playing golf, spending time at his home in Bethany Beach with his family and celebrating the achievements of his children and grandchildren.

He was a life member of the Turners Club and was active in the Sages at St. Mary of the Assumption Church.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patricia (nee Kalafut) Sanderson; his sons, Michael (Lisa R.) and Richard (Lisa M.); his daughters, Kathleen Yearsley (Ed) and Susan Rock (Tim); his 14 grandchildren, Laura (Colin), Meredith, Kerry, Brent, Matthew, Julie, Christie, Tessa, Blake, Brooke, Casey, Connor, Ellie and Ava and his twin brother, Jack S. Sanderson (Ginny).

He was predeceased by his parents and his 3 brothers, Dick, Bill and Sher.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 19 from 5pm-7:30 pm at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 7200 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE 19707 where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 20 at 11 am. Entombment will be in All Saints Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St Mary of the Assumption Building Fund at the above address or St. Elizabeth High School, 1500 Cedar St., Wilmington, DE 19805.
