Gary L. Takash, age 60, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, with his loving family by his side.

He was the son of the late John and Beatrice (Jamison) Takash and was a graduate of Thomas McKean High School. Gary worked as a heavy equipment operator, most notably for Richards Paving.

Gary was an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing and taking trips to the beach, especially Fenwick Island. He also enjoyed gardening, cooking, listening to music, and was a big fan of the Philadelphia Eagles. Gary cherished the simple joys in life and had a talent for telling stories, but above else, he loved spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed.

Gary is survived by his wife, Anna Takash; his son, Phillip Schweiger (Kristen); his stepchildren, Leo Kuptsov (Kate), and Uliana Moroz; his step-grandchildren, Uriy and Anna; his siblings, John Takash (Daralice), Mary Lou Faas (Tom), and Sharon Braucht (Charlie); his nieces and nephews, Becky, Shealynn (Chris, and their son, Christopher), Johnny, Mike and Steve; and his grand-dog, Bourbon.

A Memorial Service will be celebrated at 11:00am on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808, where family and friends may visit beginning at 10:00am. Interment will be private.
