Gary G. Bradigan

Gary G. Bradigan, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 14, 2017. Born in West Pittston, PA, he was the son of the late B. Thelma and Terrance A. Bradigan, Sr.

Raised in Delaware County, Gary was a graduate of Chester High School and Brown Vo-Tech. He also attended the University of Delaware for several years. Gary was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army Reserves, as well as the Army National Guard. Throughout his 42 year career at DuPont, Gary was truly a dedicated employee. After retiring from DuPont as a Building Manager, he went on to work as Project Manager with Bancroft for 7 years. He also worked as an usher at the Brandywine Racetrack for many years.

Gary’s greatest joy in life was his family, especially his grandchildren. He treasured their annual family treks to Bethany Beach, as well as taking cruises all over with his wife.

In his spare time, Gary was a true outdoorsman and loved boating, hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a jack of all trades and was very handy and creative at fixing anything with his amazing collection of tools. Gary was also an avid Phillies and Eagles fan.

Gary is survived by his loving wife of almost 58 years, Joan M. (Wright) Bradigan; his children, Sherry M. Vari (Thomas), Mark G. Bradigan (Andrea), Kathy A. Ramos (Jeffery) and Kelly M. Bradigan (Kimberly); his 14 grandchildren, Scott, Jamie, Alexa, Izabella, Denimax, Samuel, Nicholas, Jake, Tanner, Ryan, Conor, Megan, Samantha and Kirsten; his 2 great grandchildren, Milo and Morgan; his brother, Terrance A. Bradigan, Jr. (Pauline); his brother-in-law, William H. Wright; his sister-in-law, Evelyn A. Wilson; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Joan Marie Firlein.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all of those at Heartland Hospice and Homewatch for their excellent care and support of Gary during his final days.

Family and friends may visit on Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 10:30 AM to 12 PM at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 2503 Centerville Rd. Wilmington, DE 19808, where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12 PM. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Catherine of Siena Church.
