Frank Pullella, 77 of Wilmington, DE peacefully passed away on Monday, June 5, 2017.
Frank was born in Sorianello, Italy on March 28, 1940, son of the late Michele and Concetta (Davolos) Pullella. He relocated to Australia for a brief time prior to settling in the United States in 1964. His first employment in Delaware was as an iron worker, and eventually joined General Motors as an assemblyman at the Boxwood Road Plant, retiring in 1993 after 26 years of dedicated service. He was a faithful member of St. John the Beloved Parish. An avid sports fan, Frank enjoyed playing cards, mastering puzzles, making homemade wine and pasta, and was a talented woodworker. He also loved gardening and working outdoors. His greatest pleasure was being with family, especially his beloved grandchildren.
Frank was a loving and dedicated husband to his wife of 50 years, Rosemarie (Sorbara). Frank will be dearly missed by his children, Michael Pullella (Connie), Annette Esterling, Anthony Pullella (Antonella), Mary Pullella; and his adored grandchildren, Matthew, Alexandra, Julianne, Marisa, Adrienne, Matteo, Tommy, Mira, and Milania.
He is also survived by his sister, Theresa Pennachi; his brothers, Domenick and Eugene Pullella; nieces and nephews.
Frank was predeceased by his brothers, Joseph and Anthony Pullella; his sister, Bettina Blois.
The family would like to thank the staff of Heartland Hospice for the love, compassion and care given to Frank.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Sunday, June 11 from 3:00-5:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington on Monday, June 12 at 10:00AM. Entombment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery.
