Frances M. (McCann) Leslie

Frances M. (McCann) Leslie, age 69 of Newark, DE, passed away suddenly at home on Friday, January 30, 2015.

She was born in Chester, PA, on June 7, 1945, the daughter of the late James C. and Lauretta (Knerr) McCann.

Frances had a special interest in learning about her family’s genealogy. She enjoyed the company of her pet cats, playing pinochle, collecting antiques, reading and traveling. Some of her favorite trips were to Ireland and other countries throughout Europe. Her most cherished times were spent with her children. Frances will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Laura Leslie; and her son, Ned Leslie.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00pm on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808 where family and friends may visit beginning at 2:00pm. Interment will be held privately at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, Frances’ family suggests making contributions to Faithful Friends, 12 Germay Drive, Wilmington, DE, 19804.
