Evelyn M. (Piaskowski) Sullivan

Evelyn M. Sullivan of Landenberg, PA, and Lake Worth, FL, passed away on December 10th, 2017.

Daughter of the late John and Bertha Piaskowski, Evelyn was born on October 7, 1947 in Wilmington, DE. Evelyn attended Wilmington High School and the University of Delaware, graduating in 1969 with a degree in Medical Technology. She began her career that same year with Wilmington Medical Center. Wilmington Medical Center later became the Medical Center of Delaware, which is now Christiana Care Health System. Evelyn retired in 2012 as Senior Medical Lab Scientist after 43 years of dedicated service. I

n the early 1980’s, Evelyn served as a Republican Committee Chairwoman for London Britain Township, Chester County, for 14 years. She also served as a Past President of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Plumbing Heating Cooling Contractors Association of Delaware.

Evelyn met her husband, Paul, during her senior year of college. They married in 1970 and recently celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary on September 26th.

Evelyn is survived by her husband, Paul; her sons, Patrick Joseph and Matthew Galen (Susan); and the little loves of her life, her granddaughters, Ava Paige, Brooke Elise and Kate Olivia. She is also survived by her brother, Raymond Piaskowski (Glenda), as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family wishes to thank the staff from Delaware Hospice for their compassionate care during Evelyn’s illness.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 15 at 11 AM in St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Mother Church, 8910 Gap Newport Pike, Avondale, PA 19311, where family and friends may visit from 9:30 to 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice, 16 Polly Drummond Shopping Center, 2nd Floor, Newark, DE 19711.
