Esther Lois (Denney) DiRocco

Esther LOIS (Denney) DiRocco 89 years young, passed away peacefully at Genesis Brackenville Center in Hockessin, Delaware on Monday, January 1, 2018. LOIS was born on July 24, 1928 and grew up in the Wilmington Delaware area. Early on Mom worked for the telephone company as an operator and then beside her husband at Carl’s Beauty Salon in Elsmere Delaware. She then worked at the Wilmington Country Club for several years.

LOIS was married for 53 years, “whatever”. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl Jr.; her mother Vanda Denney; 4 sisters, Betty Whiteside, Doris Whiteside, Annette Boyd and Janny Denney; her daughter-in-law, Susan DiRocco; her Great Granddaughter, Zoë Quinn Francis.

Lois is survived by “her 4 boys”, Donald Paul from Baltimore (wife, Grace), Robert from Colorado, Chick from Townsend (wife, Mary), Timothy from Newport (wife, Kerri).

Lois has 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Saturday, January 6 from 12:00-1:00PM, with services immediately following.

Burial will be private.
