Sarah Elizabeth Coleman, 54, of Wilmington, DE passed away at her home on the evening of Sunday, May 28, 2017.

Liz, a humble woman with a loving soul, was born in Wilmington on August 28th, 1962, the fourth of six siblings. She was a graduate of Wilmington High School and a member of Saint Matthew's Parish. Her knack for commercial banking brought her many opportunities, including a lengthy successful career with Wilmington Trust.
Liz, with her ornery laughter, could light up the room in an instant. Although she was quite the jokester, her motherly instincts never strayed. Whether you needed a shoulder to lean on or someone to "chit chat" with, her door was always open. She enjoyed getting a tan on the beach with a good Danielle Steel novel. You could also catch her in the garden, or begging her grandson, Cameron, to sing and play the piano for her. We will carry her strong-willed perseverance in our hearts forever.

Liz is survived by her daughters, Jessica and Lauren Coleman (Tony Dufaj); her grandson, Cameron Kuzepski; her father, Antonio Velazquez; her siblings, Mildred Bradshaw, Lucy Claudio Hutson (Chuck), Tony Claudio, Andrea Claudio-Alonso (Jose), and Pete Claudio; her fiancé, Robert Wells; and several nieces, nephews, and members of her extended family.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Mildred E. (Adams) and her former husband of 24 years, R. Gerard Coleman.

Family and friends are invited to visit from 5:00 – 7:00pm on Friday, June 2, 2017 at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808.
