Elijah James (Baby Bear) O'Leary

Elijah James O’Leary “Baby Bear” of Carlisle, Pennsylvania was suddenly and tragically taken from this world on Thursday October 5, 2017. He was 21 years old.

Born August 24, 1996 in Eugene, Oregon.  He was the eldest son of the late Sean T. O’Leary (Papa Bear).  He is survived by his sister Irie Moon O’Leary and brothers Jude O’Leary and Sammy Donahue, his loving grandparents Pam and Wayne Cherrix, his aunt Heather and uncle Mikie Rew, nephew Paxton, cousins Caylum and Bryson.  Also, his mother Jenni Hubert Donahue and uncle James Hubert, and numerous friends and extended family.

After graduating from the Circle School, Elijah studied culinary arts at HACC.  He often spent his summers working security at music festivals.  Elijah had plans to spread his wings and travel back to California this winter.

Elijah had many passions including football, live music, cooking, kayaking, being on the water, marine biology, photography, being awesome, reading and travel, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family and endless friends.  His love and laughter were infectious, and his smile always brightened the room.  He always had an ear to listen and a shoulder to lean on.  Known to his friends as Baby Bear, Elijah was renowned for giving the best bear hugs far and wide.  Elijah loved attending music festivals and shows and had a great love for the Grateful Dead like his father before him.  Elijah will be immensely missed by his varying and countless friends and family.  There was nobody on earth like him and his absence leaves an Elijah sized hole in our hearts.

Visitation will be held at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Rd., Wilmington, DE onTuesday, October 17, 2017 from 1:00-2:00pm.  A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm at the same location. Following the service, a luncheon will be held at Limestone Presbyterian Church, 3201 Limestone Rd. Wilmington, DE with parking in rear of church.
