Earl Samuel Wolfe

Earl S. Wolfe, 87, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 17, 2017 with his family at his side.

Earl was born in Tower City, PA, son of the late William and Vera (Boyer) Wolfe. He served honorably with the US Air Force in both the Korean and Vietnam wars, retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant after 23 years. Earl went on to enjoy a 22-year civilian career as a maintenance supervisor at Wanamaker’s.

Earl was a member of Elmore Masonic Lodge #30 in Mountain Home, ID. He enjoyed gardening, playing golf and was very handy around the house. He was a dedicated family man who enjoyed the simple things in life, especially spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 60 years, Vivian (Mucher) Wolfe; his children, Linda Wolf (Jeff), Larry Wolfe (Gretchen) and Lori Peron (J-P); his grandchildren, Tyler Wolf (Sarah), and Jennifer Wolf; and his brother, William Wolfe.

In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 in the chapel of Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE 19720. Family and friends may visit beginning at 10:00am. Interment will be held in the adjoining cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Earl’s memory can be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
