Dennis L. “Denny” Gossert, of Landenberg, PA, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, November 21, 2015, at the age of 67, surrounded by his family after a long courageous struggle with Prostate Cancer.
He is one of four children born to the late Alton and Grovene (Williams) Gossert in Darby, PA on March 21, 1948, as well as the beloved husband of Sue (Mary Butler) for 28 years. Denny will forever be remembered by his devoted sisters, Judy Bucci (Larry) and Debbie Gossert (Ralph Larson). He was predeceased by his older sister Beverly Shepherd.
Denny graduated from Claymont High School in 1966, continued his education at the Institute of Computer Management, served proudly in the United States Army and upon discharge went on to earn his degree in business management from Goldey Beacom College. Denny was a dedicated and loyal employee to WSFS for many years, but his most gratifying years of employment were with Happy Harry’s Discount Drug Stores in the position of Director of Human Resources, retiring in 2008.
.
Denny enjoyed listening to music, playing golf, softball and volley ball. His most peaceful source of relaxation was on the beach or on his boat enjoying the warm sun and peaceful waters.
Denny touched the lives of many people with his generosity, kindness and his trademark smile. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and positive attitude. His motto, there are no strangers, put a smile on your face, be kind and move forward. Denny had a strong faith in the Lord, but was a “quiet” Christian and shared his faith and love for Jesus privately.
Most precious of all were his family. He will be remembered always by his wife, Sue; daughter, Jennifer Manning (Gregg Milewski); son, Dennis L. Gossert, Jr and stepson, Justin Strahorn (Katie). Pop-pop is absolutely adored by his grandchildren, Kelliann, Juliann, Benjamin, Emma, Leah, Kendall and great granddaughter, Kenna; also Papa Pop-pop to his great niece Nevaeh. “Uncle Denny” will also be cherished by many nieces and nephews
