Darlene B. (Maguire) Jackson

Darlene B. Jackson, 64, of Milton, DE passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, February 7, 2016.

Darlene was born in Philadelphia, PA on October 1, 1951, daughter of the late Walter and Irene (Hantwerker) Maguire.  She began her working career with the auditing department at Sears, and then became a fulltime homemaker and mom.  Darlene co-operated a day care business, and eventually joined the staff of Lane Day School until being diagnosed with cancer in 2011.

Darlene was an avid animal lover and enjoyed breeding Shelties, Pomeranians and Yorkshire Terriers.  She was a former member of St. Philip’s Lutheran Church.

Darlene is survived by her husband of 34 years, Thomas B. Jackson; her children, Valerie McMahon and husband, Cliff, and Kevin Jackson and wife, Dawn; her grandchildren, Tyler, Madison, Victoria and Natalie; and her brothers, Tim Maguire and wife, Susan, and Kevin Maguire and wife, Laurel.

She was predeceased by her sister, Sherry Brownley.

Friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Saturday, February 13 from 9:00-10:00AM.  A service will begin at 10:00AM, with the committal following in All Saints Cemetery.
