Colleen M. DiOrio

Colleen M. DiOrio, age 62, of Newark, DE passed away peacefully on Friday, May 19th, 2017.

Colleen was born and raised in Wilmington, DE and was a loving and devoted sister, cousin, aunt, and above all else a friend. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dolores (Putt) Kane DiOrio and her father, Frank DiOrio. A graduate of Conrad High School, Colleen dedicated her entire working career to the DuPont Company and retired in 2015.

Colleen is survived by her sister, Vicki DiOrio, brothers, Chuck Dawson (Annette), Gary Dawson and Robert DiOrio (Michelle), nieces (Jamie, Nicole) and nephews (Josh, Justin). She is also survived by an abundance of cousins and very close friends.

Colleen enjoyed cooking, shopping, traveling and cherished her time with her many family and friends.  

A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Colleen’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 24th at 10 am at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 7200 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE 19707 where friends may call at 9am. Entombment will be in All Saints Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center, 4701 Ogletown Stanton Road, Newark, DE 19713.
