Chong-Jin Yu

Chong-Jin Yu, 94, of Elsmere, DE passed away on January 26, 2018. 

Mr. Yu lived a busy and faithful life.  After immigrating to the United State from South Korea, Mr. Yu worked as a dry-cleaner for more than 25 years before retiring.  Mr. Yu is also a founding member of the Wilmington Korean Presbyterian Church and served as the founding elder for more than 20 years. 

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Woon-Hee; four daughters – Hyun-Ju Song (Young-Ho) and their son, B.J.; Hyun-Sook Kim (Yun-Chae) and their sons, Soo-Beom and Soo-Hwan; Jin Yoon and her son, Sung-Woo and daughter, Sung-Won and Kyung Choi (Kwang-Kook) and their daughters, Jae-Won and Jae-Yun; and a grand-daughter, Sophia Park.

A viewing will be held from 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM on Tuesday, January 30 at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek where the funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, January 31 immediately followed by interment at Silverbrook Cemetery, Lancaster Ave., Wilmington.
