Charles Kromer Messick, 90 of Wilmington, DE passed away Monday, April 2, 2018.
He was the son of the late Viola Pierson Messick and Milton Edward Messick. After graduating from P.S. DuPont High School and the Eckels College of Mortuary Science, Charles worked for a short time at Chandler’s as a mortician. An army veteran himself, he volunteered for many years at the Wilmington Veterans Hospital. He was an avid gardener and could be found working in his gardens whenever weather permitted. Charlie loved going to auctions and was an enthusiastic collector OF EVERYTHING.
Charles is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy Bush Messick, his daughter, Joan Messick Frain and her husband, Stephen, son, Charles “Chip” K. Messick, 2nd and his wife, Linda; his 5 grandchildren, Stephen (Grace), Elizabeth (Nick), Caitlin, Ryan, and Elyse and his 4 great-grandchildren, Alexa, Logan, Arthur and Charles.
