Carmella M. (Frank) Pedicone

Carmella M. (Frank) Pedicone of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, January 24, 2015.  A lifelong resident of Wilmington, she was the daughter of the late Emilio and Florence (DiFilippo) Frank.

Carmella was a loving and devoted homemaker, the matriarch of her family who embraced life.  She possessed a large and memorable personality, and generously placed the needs of others before her own.  Carmella enjoyed traveling and spending time working in her beautiful flower garden, and was a talented seamstress, baker and cook.  She was a devoted Catholic and a member of St. Anthony of Padua Parish.

Her husband of 48 years, Joseph S. Pedicone, passed away on June 17, 1988.

Carmella will be dearly missed by her daughter, JoAnne Rees and her husband, Tommy; her granddaughters, Michele Treml and her husband, Joey, Daniele Ferreira and her husband, Sid, and Renee Beamer and her husband, Scott; and her great grandchildren, Meagan and Justin Treml, Louis Chance III, Julia Ferreira, and Brianna and McKenzie Beamer.  She is also survived by her sister, Rose Trueblood; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to “The Team” of Carmella’s devoted caregivers and the staff of the NCCU on 2D at Christiana Hospital.

Friends are invited to the visitation at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 9th and DuPont Streets, Wilmington on Saturday, January 31 from 9:00-9:45AM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM.  Entombment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Carmella may be made to St. Anthony of Padua Parish, 901 N. DuPont Street, Wilmington, DE 19805 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
