Barbara A. (Monardo) Cannatelli, 95 of Wilmington, Delaware peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, April 19, 2017.

Barbara was born in Wilmington on June 30, 1921, daughter of the late Vincenzo and Vincenza (Gioffre) Monardo.  She was a loving, devoted homemaker who took great pride in caring for her family and was a positive inspiration to all.  She was very artistic and enjoyed painting as well as needle pointing.   A deeply spiritual person and devout Catholic, Barbara was a long time member of Christ Our King Parish.  She possessed an infectious smile and would immediately light up the room.

Her beloved husband of 70 years, Basil S. Cannatelli, passed away on May 10, 2008.  Sadly, Barbara was also predeceased by her son, Basil Cannatelli; and her grandchildren, Vincent Cannatelli Jr., Cynthia Herrick and Nicole Testa.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Dominick Cannatelli and his wife, Gail, Vincent Cannatelli  and his wife, Lynne, Catherine Cannatelli, Joseph Cannatelli and his wife, Kathy;  her grandchildren, Brent Cannatelli (Linda), Brian Cannatelli (Holly), Scott Cannatelli (Amanda), Todd Cannatelli (Shauna), Richard Cannatelli (Lisa), Joey Lynn Conway (Tim), David Heit Jr., Joshua Cannatelli, Madison Cannatelli, Taylor Cannatelli; her great grandchildren, Max, Finn, Ava, Maya, Lexi, Masao, Emily, Trevor, Alexis, Tyler, Jacob, Kenny, Justina, Jordan, Brooke, Corrine; and her great-great granddaughter, Natalia.

In addition, Barbara is survived by her brother, Joseph Monardo; her sister, Mae Ross; nieces, nephews and their families.

Family and friends are invited to the visitation at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 9th and DuPont Streets, Wilmington on Monday, April 24 from 9:30-10:45AM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM.  Entombment will follow in the St. Catherine Garden Crypt, Cathedral Cemetery.
