Anne T. (DiIanni) Neri, 49 of Newark, DE, devoted mother, loving wife and a true friend that touched so many, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 4, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.

Anne’s family was the center of her world. She never missed her son Robert’s high school and college games, and always said “Let’s Go!” when her daughter Elaina suggested a concert or girls shopping trip. Her most cherished memories included annual excursions to the Outer Banks or family trips to Disney World. She valued the holiday season, birthdays and reunions, anything that would bring her family together in celebration. Regardless of the destination or occasion, Anne made sure to surround herself with those she loved the most. A gracious gift giver and frequent volunteer, Anne was always planning the next adventure.

Anne is forever grateful for the love and support that her family and friends showed her over the course of her battle with cancer: “I did this entire thing my way and I can leave the earth and join my parents and know that everyone is now taken care of! I love everyone for everything they did for my family! Until we meet again, I love you all!”

Anne was born in Southwest Philadelphia, PA to the late John and Mary (Storace) DiIanni and graduated from West Catholic Girls High School. Anne and her husband, Robert Neri raised their family in Delaware. She was a longtime, dedicated employee of the Rockford Center, working as the executive assistant to the CEO for many years. She forged many lasting friendships with her colleagues at work and considered many of them as her extended family.

Anne is survived by her husband, Robert B. Neri, Sr.; her children, Robert Jr. and Elaina; her brother, John DiIanni, Jr. (Susan); her niece and goddaughter, Celia DiIanni; her mother-in-law, Anne L. Neri; brother-in-law, Michael Neri, Jr.; sisters-in-law, Noreen Moore, Ellen Neri, Anne Marie Russo, Eileen Paris and Annette Neri; as well as many nieces, nephews, and her extended family of friends.

Family and friends are invited to visit from 5:00 – 7:00pm on Friday, June 9, 2017 at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Holy Angels Church, 82 Possum Park Road, Newark, DE 19711. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
