Alfred E. "Whitey" Renaud

Alfred E. “Whitey” Renaud, age 92, of Newark, DE, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 12, 2017.

Alfred was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy proudly serving during World War II, where he was the recipient of the Bronze Star. He was an avid ice hockey fan and loved “putting his skates on” to watch the Boston Bruins. Alfred also enjoyed cheering on his teams, the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.

Alfred was predeceased by his loving wife, Mary E. Renaud, as well as his parents and siblings. He is survived by his sons, Rick Renaud (Tracy Bell) and Paul Renaud (Laurie); his grandchildren, Michele, Lauren, Patrick and Kyle Renaud and Chelsea and Jamie Johnson; as well as his nieces, Sharon Pietrowski (Pete), Janice Reeves and Angel Florio.

Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, April 18 from 5 to 7 PM at Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Rd., Wilmington, DE 19808, where a Celebration of Alfred’s Life will begin at 7 PM. Interment will be held on Wednesday, April 19 at 11 AM at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd., Bear, DE 19701.
