Agnes (Ann) Clementine Eastman, 92, went home to the Lord on Thursday, April 5, 2018. Ann was born October 16, 1925 in Williamsport, PA to Francis J. Kline and Pearl Audet. During her early years, her family relocated to South Bend, IN and she graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy while working as a nanny for a local family. While living in South Bend, she met Ernest F. Eastman who was attending Notre Dame University. They fell in love and were married June 19, 1948 and enjoyed 67 years of marriage together before Ernest passed away in 2015. May they now live together for eternity.
Ann was predeceased by her husband, Ernest, and her grandson, Jeffery Shane Eastman. Her legacy lives on through six children; Nancy Eastman, Brian Eastman (Cheryl), Jeff Eastman (Kristine), Cheryl Macey (David), Tracey Eastman and Barbara Buckanavage (Steve). She was blessed with ten grandchildren; Brittany (Matt), Brandon (Anna), Alyssa, Stephanie (Brad), Dave, Kacie, Evan, Courtney, Jack and Charles and now the third generation with three great-grandchildren.
Ann kept the Lord close in her life and was a faithful servant. She always put others first and was unselfish with her time and energy whether working as a teacher’s aide, returning to school at age 55 to earn her sociology degree, or being an advocate for children with disabilities and supporting the Special Olympics.
She treasured time spent with family and especially loved her grandchildren, attending their school and sporting events, and celebrating each and every milestone in their lives. She especially enjoyed visits from the grandkids and couldn’t wait to find out the latest news. She loved watching the Lawrence Welk show as it reminded her of a time when family would gather and enjoy each other.
All services for Ann will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Special Olympics of Delaware, 619 S. College Avenue, Newark, Delaware 19716 (www.sode.org).
