Stephen F. Ziejewski

Stephen F. Ziejewski, Jr. passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Christiana Hospital after a long illness.

Born in Wilmington, DE on January 21, 1942, Steve is the son of Cecilia and the late Stephen Ziejewski. A graduate of Salesianum High School and the University of Delaware, he was employed by the DuPont Co. in the Textile Fibers Division for his entire professional career as a mechanical engineer. As a project manager, Steve had a lead role in designing and improving the machinery that spins synthetic fibers into textiles.

An avid fisherman, Steve enjoyed many trips to Cape Hatteras and the Florida Keys and spent many of his retirement years in Lewes, DE.

Steve is survived by his wife, Joanne; children, Christine Shearon (Eric), Gregory and Diane; three grandchildren; mother, Cecilia and sister, Joanna Stout; and many nieces, a nephew and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, November 20 from 10:00 to 11:15 AM at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Rd., Wilmington, DE 19808, where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:30 AM. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Salesianum School, 1801 N. Broom St., Wilmington, DE 19802.
