Ann Spear Tobin, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, October 30, 2017 at the proud age of 90.

A lifelong resident of Wilmington, Ann spent the majority of her career at the DuPont Company.

A proud Irish-Catholic, Ann was a tireless advocate for St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, where she was a parishioner for over 40 years, and Wilmington’s Irish Culture Club. Ann was also active in local Delaware politics, and was always quick to share a passionate take on the latest political news. Ann and her husband Larry’s greatest pride was their family, happiest when their home was filled with her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and the ever-growing assortment of those who adopted them as their own grandparents.

Ann is survived by daughter, Donna Alexander and husband, Raymond, her son, Lawrence Tobin Jr. and wife, Sally; her grandchildren, Travis Tobin and wife, Tammy, Craig Tobin and wife, Nicole, and Courtney Alexander; great-grandchildren, James Tobin, Finn, Liam and Connor Tobin, and Selena and Felicia Ortiz; great-great-grandchildren Julian and Elijah Ortiz; sisters, Jean Pedicone, Ellen Scott and Katherine Lamb; and a whole host of loved nieces and nephews.

Ann is preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 50 years, Lawrence Tobin Sr.; her brother, Robert Spear; and her parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, 601 E 6th Street, Wilmington, DE 19801, where family and friends can visit beginning at 10:00am. Interment will take place at 10:00am on Friday, November 3, 2017 in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, DE.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, c/o St. Patrick’s Church, 1414 N. King Street, Wilmington, DE 19801.
