Alice E. (Deegan) Askin, 96, of Wilmington, Delaware peacefully passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018.
Alice was born in Camden, New Jersey on August 26, 1921, daughter of the late William Deegan DVM and Mary (Gormley) Deegan. A graduate of Camden Catholic High School, she married her husband, John, in 1945 and became a devoted homemaker, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Alice was happiest when gathering with her family, and she always enjoyed a good laugh. She was a long time member of St. John the Beloved Parish.
Alice will be dearly missed by her sons, John F. Askin Jr. and wife, Kathleen Mickle-Askin, Richard E. Askin and wife, Marian, Thomas M. Askin; her grandchildren, Shaun Askin and wife, Michele, Brett Askin, Leigh Weldin and husband, Mark, Laura McDaniel and husband, Jim; and her beloved great granddaughter, Elise Marie.
Alice was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, John F. Askin Sr., who passed away in 2005; as well as her siblings.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington on Monday, February 19 at 10:30AM. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
