Grief Talk©
For Children & Teenagers

What Is Grief Talk©?
Grief Talk© is the name of Doherty Funeral Home's bereavement programs and services for children and teenagers. It includes the following educational and support services:

  • Individual Consultation.
  • Preparation For The Funeral or Memorial Service.
  • Referrals To Area Support Groups And Organizations.
  • Small & Large Group Discussions & Presentations.
  • A Parent's Guide To Grieving Children.
  • Grief-Related Literature.

Who Can Benefit From Grief Talk©?
Our primary purpose is to provide support to the grieving children and their families served by Doherty Funeral Homes. We talk with children about their grief, the person who died, and what to expect during the funeral service. We also allow the children to take part in the service, and therefore, we provide them with a helpful experience.

Grief Talk© has also grown to include services to our community at large. As a result, we are now assisting both grieving and non-grieving children and the adults who care for them. Speaking to children and adults in area schools, churches, and other organizations concerning the grief experience is one way we serve the community around us.

If you would like to learn more about Grief Talk©, contact Ralph Plumley here at Doherty Funeral Homes.
